Picture books and hands-on STEM activities that teach kids 3 and up the art and science of smell. In Za Za's Scent-Sational Super Power, a run-in with Lizzy, a honey-scented polka-dotted bee, gives Za Za a super-powered nose; in the sequel, Za Za Spreads Sweetness, she learns that collaboration beats competition. Author Alexis Wintrob is a fragrance and flavor trends consultant who drew on her perfumery work at Procter & Gamble and wrote the stories with her twin daughters in mind. Alongside the books come six child-friendly rollerball fragrances (apple, chocolate, honey, rose, strawberry and vanilla) made with perfumer Frédéric Jacques, plus blotters, an activity booklet and Spread Sweetness postcards, all gathered in the Scent-Story Set. The first book was a 2021 Perfumed Plume Fragrance Book of the Year finalist, and Za Za turns up for storytimes at Cincinnati Museum Center and other local venues.
