Maker Street is "an imaginary neighborhood populated mostly by animals who behave suspiciously like people", drawn by artist Tracy Updike, who studied painting at the Art Academy of Cincinnati and spent more than a decade making one-of-a-kind handbags before a button press led her to digital illustration. Her characters start from a pun, an old photograph or a breed's quirks: breakdancing cats, a Scottie drinking Scotch, a pit bull Rosie the Riveter, a beer-bellied bulldog. Look for art prints, tote bags, T-shirts and magnets at the table, plus custom pet art and an on-the-spot photo keepsake station that turns your pet into a magnet or sticker. She shows at Cincinnati-area art fairs such as the Hyde Park Square Art Show and the Milford Art Affair.
