Handmade goods by women artisans in East Africa, sold by a small nonprofit with no paid U.S. staff, so the net proceeds go back to the makers and to girls' education. It started with hand-beaded leather sandals and now also carries Maasai beaded bracelets and earrings, sweetgrass baskets, beaded and fiber Christmas ornaments, nativity sets, upcycled denim jackets trimmed with kitenge fabric, beaded dog collars and fair-trade Tanzanian coffee. Proceeds also fund UhuruPads, the group's workshop in Tanzania making compostable sanitary pads, which employs 13 women and gives a year's supply to nearly 10,000 girls.
