Bridewell Stone is grown, not mined. In their Kentucky studio the Bridewells melt quartz with other elements past 2,300°F and let crystals form as it cools slowly over weeks, guided mineral crystallization inside gem-quality quartz. Each stone is then hand-cut and polished into a domed cabochon, and no two match: starbursts, fronds and feathery growth in clear, aqua, cobalt, green and amber. The stones go into one-of-a-kind pendants, drop earrings and rings, and loose cabochons are sold to other jewelry makers too.
